Hedda is an 18 cm ribbed glass pendant light built from two layers of glass: a clear outer bell cut with fine horizontal ribs, and an opal white inner globe that holds the glow. It hangs from a 1.5 m adjustable black cord on a polished chrome canopy, runs a 7 W full-spectrum LED, and it is dimmable straight from the wall switch.

The ribs are the whole point. Lit, they catch the glow from the inner globe and break it into fine bands, so the shade reads as rings of light rather than one flat bulb. Unlit, it is a small piece of clear glass that mostly disappears against a pale wall.

Is the Hedda dimmable?

Yes. Hedda is a dimmable pendant light, and the control is built into the fixture rather than bolted on. Tapping the wall switch cycles it through warm white at 3000K, a neutral middle, and a cool white, and takes the brightness down to a low evening glow. You do not need to wire in a separate dimmer module or hunt for a dimmable bulb, because the LED is already built in and already dims. One fixture covers the bright light you want for reading and the low light you want at eleven at night.

How big is the Hedda, and where does it fit?

Ø 18 cm and 20 cm tall, with a 12 cm chrome canopy. That is deliberately small, roughly the size of a grapefruit. It is a bedside, nightstand, hallway or counter-corner light rather than a statement fixture over a dining table. It covers about 1 to 6 m² of soft light, so treat it as accent lighting and not as the only source in a room.

How high should you hang it beside a bed?

Drop it so the bottom of the shade sits roughly 50 to 60 cm above the nightstand, which usually puts it near shoulder height when you are sitting up in bed. The cord is 1.5 m and adjustable at the canopy, so you can shorten it during install without cutting anything. Hung as a pair either side of the bed, match the heights by eye from the foot of the bed rather than measuring from the ceiling, since ceilings are rarely level.

Is the LED included, and what is full spectrum?

Yes. The 7 W LED is built into the fixture and included, so there is no bulb to buy. It is a full-spectrum LED with a colour rendering index of RA97, which means colours under it look close to how they look in daylight. Most cheap LEDs sit nearer RA80, where warm timber goes flat and skin tones go grey.

Will it work outside the US?

Yes. Hedda runs on 111 to 240V, so the same fixture works on US, EU, UK and Australian mains. It is a hardwired ceiling fixture, so it connects to a ceiling rose or junction box rather than a plug.
